Panga Boat Update #2

Contact: Tony CipollaPhone: (805) 781 4547Date and time of incident: 10-16-13Place of Occurrence: Cayucos PierVictim Information: N/ASuspect Information: 5 additional suspectsThe San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office is releasing new information regarding the panga boat that was discovered on 10-16-13 near San Simeon Beach. Five additional suspects are now in custody. At approximately 9:30 AM on 10-16-13, the Sheriff's Office received a report of two men hiding out in a creekbed in Cayucos. Sheriff's Deputies located the men and arrested them for their involvement in transporting marijuana in the panga boat. Six hours later, at approximately 3:30 PM, the Sheriffs Office received a call about three men hiding underneath the pier in Cayucos. Those men were also located and arrested. All five are now in custody on charges of transportation of marijuana for sale, possession of marijuana for sale and conspiracy. This now brings the total number of suspects associated with the panga boat to 23.
