Deputies from the sheriff's office, Gang Task Force, SLO Probation, California Dept. of Corrections Parole unit (Santa Maria), SLO County Code Enforcement, Arroyo Grande, Atascadero State Hospital and Sheriff K-9 units made contacts at residences throughout south county making arrests for felony warrants, being under the influence of a controlled substance and miscellaneous charges.
"It is very important for us to keep known fugitives and probation/parole violators in compliance with the terms of their releases from custody." said Sheriff's south station Commander Ken Conway. "If you violate the terms of your release, you will be held accountable." Conway continued.
"The important thing here is the regional coordination of resources to address specific criminal activity in order for us to be successful in suppressing repeat offenders." said Sheriff Ian Parkinson.
Specialized sweeps are conducted periodically across the county in an effort to deter crime and enforce probation terms of people released from custody or wanted on specific charges.
