Suspicious Package

Tefft Street, NipomoVictim Information: N/ASuspect Information: N/AOn 4-22-13, an employee at T. Simons Company in Nipomo called the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office to report a suspicious package had been returned to their office. The employee explained they had not sent the package but the company had been listed on the return address. Deputies responded, evaluated the situation, and then called in the Bomb Task Force. The half dozen employees who work there were evacuated as a safety precaution. A Bomb Task Force robot was deployed. After taking an x-ray of the package, bomb technicians determined no bomb components were inside the package. It was then opened and investigators discovered less than a quarter ounce of marijuana inside the package. The marijuana will be destroyed. The package will be analyzed as part of the investigation. The Bomb Task Force ended its investigation at approximately 5:00 PM.
