When Deputies arrived, the suspect had left that location. Based on eyewitness accounts, the man was identified as Cassidy Montelee Cuellar of Shandon.
Deputies located Cuellar at his residence in the 300 block of N. 2nd Street in Shandon. Deputies attempted to contact Cuellar but were met by a large aggressive dog behind a locked gate. The man came out of the house and was immediately confrontational by cursing and threatening to kill the Deputies. At one point he retrieved his pit bull dog and threatened to have his dog attack Deputies. Cuellar then jumped on top of his fence continuing to threaten Deputies. Deputies were able to get him down from the fence, but Cuellar resisted by striking, kicking and biting Deputies. As Cuellar continued to physically resist, Deputies activated a taser to subdue him. Even after handcuffs were applied, Cuellar continued to make threats against the Deputies.
During the struggle with Deputies, Cuellar's girlfriend, Alyssa Ralyn Nunes attempted to interfere by yelling, screaming and trying to restrain the Deputies.
