Arrests for possession of stolen weapon and narcotics for the purpose of sales

Contact: Commander Aaron NixPhone: (805) 781-1423Date and time of incident: 05/31/12, 1800 hoursPlace of Occurrence: 100 block of Norma Lane, Grover BeachVictim Information: N/ASuspect Information: See BelowOn 05/29/12 at approximately 1430 hours Grover Beach Police Department patrol officers made a traffic stop in their city that resulted in arrests for possession of a stolen firearm and a large quantity of suspected methamphetamine. Grover Beach Police Department contacted the San Luis Obispo Sheriff's Office Special Operation Unit to assist in a continuing investigation into the matter, which led to the service of search warrants at private residences in the city of Grover Beach and additional arrests for possession of suspected methamphetamine and other related charges.

During the investigation approximately 502.4 grams of methamphetamine were recovered, along with a stolen handgun, drug paraphernalia related to the sales of methamphetamine, evidence of a methamphetamine conversion laboratory and approximately $3581.00 in US currency. The following suspects were arrested as a result of the joint agency investigation:

Juan Luis Lopez Quintana, DOB: 2/20/84, resident of Arroyo Grande, CA, HS 11378, possession for sales; HS 11379, transportation, sales, or furnishing; HS 11550(a), under the influence of a controlled substance; and HS 11364.1(a), possession of drug paraphernalia

Roxanna Cristina Lopez, DOB: 11/2/76, resident of Grover Beach, CA HS 11378, HS 11379.6(a), manufacturing or converting through chemical process; PC 12022.1, felony committed while on bail; and PC 4573, bringing a controlled substance into a county jail

Ramon Antonio Franco, DOB: 10/23/80, resident of Bakersfield, CA HS 11379, HS 11378, HS 11377, possession of a controlled substance; HS 11364, PC 496, possession of stolen property; PC 466, possession of burglary tools; PC 29800(a), felon in possession of a firearm; PC 25400(a), carrying a concealed firearm; and PC 22610(a), felon in possession of a stun gun

Joseph Anthony Amaya, Jr, DOB: 12/3/92, resident of Bakersfield, CA HS 11379, HS 11378, HS 11377, HS 11364, PC 496, PC 466, PC 12022.1 and PC 25400(a)

Grover Beach Police Department worked in conjunction with members of the Sheriff's Office Gang Task Force and Narcotics Unit to bring this investigation to a successful conclusion and remove a dangerous firearm and large quantity of suspected methamphetamine from the community.
