Contact: Tony CipollaPhone: (805) 781-4547Date and time of incident: 10-27-16, Approximately 4:00 PMPlace of Occurrence: Sheriff's South Station, 1681 Front Street, OceanoVictim Information: N/ASuspect Information: N/AThe Sheriff's Office helped grant the wish of a 16-year-old boy from Oceano, today. The Sheriff's Office hosted a surprise pizza party for Brandon and his family at the Sheriff's South Station in Oceano.

The Tri-Counties Make-A-Wish Foundation selected Brandon to receive his wish to go to Walt Disney World in Florida. In addition to being a Disney fanatic, Brandon has great admiration for men and women in uniform. That’s why the Sheriff's Office got involved and had Deputies give Brandon and his brothers a tour of the community and fire station before arriving at the surprise party.

At the party, Sheriff Parkinson presented Brandon with a Sheriff's hat and t-shirt. Sheriff Parkinson says, "It's not every day you get asked to help grant the wish of a young boy in our community. Everyone here at the Sheriff's Office is excited to help send Brandon off on his big adventure to Walt Disney World. Because, while Brandon is making some wonderful memories with this trip, we get to share those memories of helping make a young boy's wish come true. It doesn't get much better than that."

Brandon has a medical condition called Williams Syndrome which is a genetic condition where he was born with one less chromosome which creates several potentially life threatening medical issues for him.

"We are grateful to be working with the Sheriff's Office to help make Brandon's wish reveal party a memorable experience. As wish granters and volunteers for Make-A-Wish, granting wishes to the children of our community is near and dear to our hearts. Brandon is an exceptional teenager and we are very excited for his wish to come true, as he and his family prepare for their trip to Walt Disney World," says Christina Gibford, Wish Granter with the Tri-Counties Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Make-A-Wish grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. Since 1985, the Tri-Counties Make-A-Wish Foundation has granted the wishes of more than 1,400 local children in Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties.

The Sheriff's Office would like to gratefully acknowledge Klondike's Pizza in Arroyo Grande and Coca-Cola of Santa Maria for their generous support with this event.
