Auto Burglary

A woman had hidden a bag containing cash from her business receipts and the sale of a car under the seat of her vehicle while she and her husband went to a movie. When the pair returned to the vehicle they discovered a window smashed, the bag of money missing, along with uniform items from the California Dept. of Corrections.
Deputies recovered some physical evidence from the crime scene, however are asking the publics help in tracking the lost uniforms or identifying a person who may have an unusual amount of spending money.
Over the last 90 days the county has been plagued by a large number of auto burglaries from Nipomo to San Miguel. Several arrests have been made, however the problem continues.
The summer months are traditionally a time when auto burglaries increase. People travel more and tend to leave valuables in their cars unattended in parking areas and outside their homes.
Persons with any information on the Santa Margarita case, or any auto burglaries, are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 549-STOP or go to SLOTIPS.org. There is currently a $1000.00 reward in the Santa Margarita case.
