The only suspect in the investigation, Michael Bret Van Heuver, 23 years, from Los Osos, the victim’s son, was arrested shortly after the assault on April 27, for attempted murder and has remained in custody. His charges are now being amended to murder.
Anyone with information regarding the assault on April 27, 2012, shortly after 5:00 p.m. in the 1800 block of 7th Street, Los Osos, is asked to contact Sheriff’s Detectives at 781-4500.
