Attempted Murder Arrest
Contact: Rob BrynPhone: (805) 781-4547Date and time of incident: 2-17-12 11:34 PMPlace of Occurrence: Santa Maria, CAVictim Information: Fabian Andrew Medina, 23Suspect Information: Luis Antonio Cabrera Mendoza, DOB: 8-24-87A 24 year old field worker from Nipomo was taken into custody Friday night by San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's detectives for the attempted murder of an Oceano man on 2-16-12. The victim had been dropped off at the Emergency Room of Arroyo Grande Community Hospital with multiple stab wounds. At intake, the victim was declared critical but stable. Detectives located a witness in the case and made a quick arrest. Over the weekend and into Monday, leads were followed and additional information developed that indicate Luis Antonio Cabrera Mendoza stabbed Fabian Andrew Medina after an altercation in Medina's truck. Medina is now in county jail, after being treated for his wounds, on a no bail parole/probation violation warrant. Booking photos of both men are cleared for release.
