The term "super panga" refers to its size. The 45-foot boat was found abandoned with 4,440 pounds of marijuana on board. The estimated street value is between six to eight million dollars. Besides numerous filled fuel containers, investigators also seized sophisticated communications equipment. No arrests were made. A person who was walking on the beach discovered the boat and reported it to the Sheriff's office. Sheriff's investigators, as well as rangers from State Parks and State Fish & Wildlife responded to the scene. The marijuana was confiscated and the panga boat was driven to Morro Bay and is now in the possession of the Sheriff's Office. This is the largest panga boat to land in San Luis Obispo County, as well as containing the largest amount of marijuana.
