Death Investigation Update

Contact: Tony CipollaPhone: (805) 781 4547Date and time of incident: 6-13-13, Approximately 2 PM Place of Occurrence: La Panza Campground, Los Padres National Forest Victim Information: Cynthia Miller, 59, San Diego areaSuspect Information: N/AThe Coroner's Unit of the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office has positively identified one of two bodies discovered on 6-13-13 inside a tent in the La Panza Campground in the Los Padres National Forest. The female subject has been identified as 59-year-old Cynthia Miller from the San Diego area. The male subject is believed to be her husband, Greg Miller, however, positive identification is pending. The process to identify the subjects was lengthy. Because the bodies were badly decomposed, Cynthia Miller had to be identified using dental records and Greg Miller is in the process of being identified through DNA analysis. Investigators have determined the manner and cause of the deaths to be suicide by asphyxiation. Detectives have determined that no foul play was involved.
