Failure to Yield - Arrest

The driver failed to yield to the lights and siren of the patrol car continuing on Grand to Oak Park, then Noyes Rd and onto Hwy 227 heading to San Luis Obispo.
San Luis Obispo Police activated a spike strip near the airport, slowly deflating a tire of the fleeing truck. The driver accelerated to 90+ mph. The driver continued to South St. and crossed S. Higuera and onto Brooke St., coming to a stop on the dead end street.
SLOPD, Sheriff's Dept., CHP and State Parks units conducted a standard high risk traffic stop, however the driver refused to follow commands.
A SLOPD officer deployed a pepper ball gun and shot into the cab of the truck through the open driver's window. After the pepper spray began to disperse inside the cab, the driver exited and was taken into custody without further incident.
The driver was identified as Ronald Thomas Harvey of Arroyo Grande, he was booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail on felony failure to yield with a bail of $25,000.
