Details of News Release: A Nipomo man is in custody in San Luis Obispo County Jail after being tracked from a burglary scene in Guadalupe. Jeremy Carlos Madrigal was taken into custody after San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's deputies responded to a report from the victim of a burglary in Guadalupe that the victim had tracked a receipt left at the scene to an address in the 1100 block of Pomeroy in Nipomo. Deputies went to the Pomeroy address and attempted to stop and interview Madrigal who fled in the truck he was suspected of using in the burglary. After a brief pursuit, Madrigal left his vehicle on Viva Way and surrendered. His truck continued on Viva southbound on the northbound side of the road where deputies executed a "PIT" maneuver to stop the vehicle from striking another car or structures in the area. Madrigal was taken to Arroyo Grande Community Hospital for an apparent drug reaction and was later booked into jail. A stolen vehicle was also recovered at the suspects residence. Charges include possession of stolen property, resisting arrest, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, and driving under the influence of a controlled substance. Bail is set at $25,000.00.
