A command post was established at the school. Ground units were directed to search surrounding areas and also retrieved clothing from the child's residence, 18 miles away, for possible use by search dogs. A school employee, who was aware of the missing child, spotted him off the roadway on La Panza Rd. and summoned authorities. The CHP helicopter verified the clothing description and a CHP ground unit transported the boy back to school. He was returned to his parents at the school at 3:59 PM.
