Arrest for narcotics offenses

Upon arrival they made contact with John Odom Jr., 55 yoa, who had caused an explosion in his kitchen while attempting to convert marijuana into hash, or "honey" oil. The extraction process uses parts of the marijuana plant that are low in THC content, and converts them to a more concentrated oil using butane gas in the process. The explosion blew the glass slider off the frame of Odom's home, but did no damage to neighboring apartments.
Odom was transported to a hospital for treatment of burns to his legs and later booked into County Jail for H&S 11379.6 (a), manufacturing or converting a controlled substance through a chemical extraction process.
