Motorcycle crash and fire

ScottPhone: (805) 781-4553Date and time of incident: 08-25-2012 at approximately 0430 hours.Place of Occurrence: In front of 5488 Ontario Road in San Luis Obispo, California.Victim Information: Michael SumrallSuspect Information: N/AOn 8/25/2012 at 04:30 in the morning the residents from 5488 Ontario Road in San Luis Obispo, California called 911 to report a fire at the bottom of their driveway. The residents went down the driveway a discovered a motorcycle crash. Motorcyclist Michael Sumrall had collided into a deer while riding northbound on Ontario road and ended up pinned under his motorcycle. The motorcycle caught on fire and became fully engulfed along with Michael Sumrall. A bystander, Steven Gray, decided to take action as he watched the incident and heard the pinned mototorcyclist shouting for help. Steven Gray ran over to the motorcyclist and lifted the burning motorcycle off of Sumrall. Gray then dragged Sumrall to a safe distance to the shoulder of the road. After Sheriff and Fire personnel arrived, Sumrall was rushed to the Sierra Vista Hospital for emergency treatment. Sumrall suffered serious burns to the lower half of his body, palms and eyebrows. Gray's decision to take action saved Sumrall from further burns to other parts of his body and quite possibly Sumrall's life.
