On 05/14/11 at 1056 hours, Five Cities Fire personnel and a Sheriff's Deputy responded to the Oceano Airport for the report of an airplane crash that had just occurred. The accident involved a single engine small aircraft with a sole occupant, piloted by a 63 year old male resident of Los Osos.

The pilot reported to airport officials that upon landing, his aircraft experienced brake problems resulting in the plane swerving and veering left, off of the runway and into the dirt/grass infield. At that time, the airplane's nose gear collapsed and disabled the plane. No injuries occurred and only minor damages were sustained to the aircraft.

The identity of the pilot is not being released at this time. The accident has been reported to the FAA and is currently under investigation by the NTSB.
