Search and Rescue Call Out - Lake Nacimiento

Contact: Rob BrynPhone: (805) 781-4547Date and time of incident: 7-20-11 6:35 PMPlace of Occurrence: Lake Nacimiento Campground, 10625 Nacimiento Lake DriveVictim Information: 2 female juveniles 13 & 10Suspect Information: N/ASan Luis Obispo County Sheriff's deputies were called to Lake Nacimiento on Wednesday evening when two female juveniles age 10 and 13 were reported overdue and last seen at approximately 5:30 PM near their Pine Knolls campsite. Monterey County Park Rangers had searched the grounds and began an inspection of vehicles leaving the park. Deputies arrived and began coordinating a search effort that included California Highway Patrol helicopter, a boat from Monterey county and eventually began a SLO Search and Rescue team callout. The two girls were located unharmed at a campsite in the park at 7:57 PM and returned to their parents. No foul play is suspected. "We want to respond adequate resources into the field as quickly as possible in these types of cases to reduce the risk to the juveniles involved." said Undersheriff Marti Basti.
