Discovery of Partial Skeletal Remains

Contact: Tony CipollaPhone: (805) 781-4547Date and time of incident: 7-15-12 12:30 PMPlace of Occurrence: South side of Tank Farm Road, between South Higuera St. & Highway 227, San Luis ObispoVictim Information: NASuspect Information: NA San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's detectives and Coroner's unit responded to a report of a discovery of partial skeletal remains. The remains were found in an area on Chevron-owned property on the South side of Tank Farm road between Higuera Street and Highway 227. The person leasing the land discovered the remains in the water of the creek that flows through the property. The condition and position of the body suggest the remains had washed downstream. Early indications suggest the remains are that of an adult male. There is no early indication of foul play. It's believed the remains have been there within the past year. The forensic investigation is continuing, to determine the identity of the subject and the manner in which he died.
