Sexual Assault Investigation

Contact: Tony CipollaPhone: (805) 781 4547Date and time of incident: 3-28-15, Approximately 2:10 PMPlace of Occurrence: 1200 block of 11th Street, Los OsosVictim Information: 16-year-old femaleSuspect Information: Steve James Linzmeier, 57, Los OsosOn 3-28-15, a Sheriff's Deputy responded to a local hospital for a report of a 16-year-old developmentally disabled girl who had been sexually assaulted the night before at a home in the 1200 block of 11th Street in Los Osos.
The victim reported she had gone to the home to visit a friend who invited her to spend the night. At approximately 9:00 PM, the friend, the friend's mother, grandmother and brother went to bed. At the same time, the victim also retired for the night on a couch in the living room of the home. The father of the friend, identified as 57-year-old Steve Linzmeier was in the living room watching TV. At some point during the night, Linzmeier went over to the victim and sexually assaulted her.
Linzmeier was arrested on multiple charges including rape by force, child molestation and committing a violent crime against a person who is disabled. The investigation is continuing.
