Because of an extreme weather event expected to begin late tonight and continue through the weekend, the search for Fernandez will be suspended until early next week when weather conditions allow the search to continue.
As soon as conditions permit, members of the Sheriff's Underwater Search and Recovery Dive Team will return to the area for additional searching.

Members of the Sheriff's Underwater Search and Recovery Dive Team worked with a California Highway Patrol helicopter for many hours today searching the surrounding coastline and ocean for Missing Person Brian Fernandez.
