Suspected butane honey oil conversion lab explosion

The suspected lab was located at a residence, 1716 Lynn Rd., San Luis Obispo. The lab was discovered when a fire began at the residence that ultimately resulted in several explosions.

Responding fire and law enforcement personnel noticed a very large quantity of butane cylinders and a large quantity of marijuana. This discovery prompted the Police Department's request for assistance. Sheriff's lab-certified Narcotics personnel responded with protective equipment and recovered evidence of a conversion lab.

The investigation is ongoing. As of this release one subject is in custody. Suspect is the resident of the lab site. Name: Candice Garcia, DOB:3/7/57 Charges: H&S11379.6 Extraction/ Conversion Lab, and H&S11357(c) Possession of Marijuana over one oz.

The Sheriff's Office asks that all residents of the County remain vigilant and report suspicious activities of a related nature. In this case, we are not aware of any injuries resulting from the fire or explosion. However, fires and explosions in a residential area are an obvious and serious danger to all.
