Negligent Discharge of a Firearm

Mesa Rd. rural Arroyo GrandeVictim Information: N/ASuspect Information: Mitchell David Rowles 24, of NipomoSan Luis Obispo County Sheriff's south station deputies responded to a shots fired call on Friday evening near the Trilogy housing area on Viva Way and N. Mesa Rd. Deputies located a man lying in the roadway with a .22 caliber rifle next to him and a 12 gauge shotgun on a sling underneath the man. Deputies approached, secured the weapons and summoned medical personnel. There were no signs of trauma on the unresponsive man. Deputies located expended shells at the sight. Mitchell David Rowles 24, of Nipomo was transported to Arroyo Grande Community Hospital where he was treated and later released after allegedly being diagnosed as under the influence of alcohol. Deputies then booked Rowles for negligent discharge of a firearm, a felony and booked him into county jail. Rowles remains in custody today on $20,000. bail. Booking photo release authorized.
