Further investigation revealed child pornography on the suspects personal computer, a violation of law.
Known by the slang term "sexting", the practice involves the distribution of pornographic images sent between phones as a photo file. These images may contain adult or underage subjects posing nude or semi-nude and can be a violation of both state and federal law.
Parents are urged to caution their children about sending, receiving or storing this type of material on their cell phones, portable media or personal computers.
The investigation was conducted by the Sexual Assault Felony Enforcement team (SAFE) that investigates sexual predators, rape and child molest cases.
Schools or organizations wishing to have an informational program about preventing sexting and internet predator issues are asked to call the Crime Prevention Unit at 781-4578.
