Homicide Update

As part of this investigation detectives have identified Joseph Munoz as a person who has information regarding the homicide.

During the course of the investigation Sheriff s detectives learned that Munoz, who is wanted for a violation of his parole, was present at the scene of the altercation. Detectives need to interview Munoz to determine the exact circumstances that led to the death of the victim. Munoz is a 35 year old Hispanic male from Oceano. Munoz is 5 0 , 130 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He has the word "Southside" tattooed across his throat.

Background: On 6-21-13, the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office received a report of a fight in progress in the 1300 block of 19th Street in Oceano. When deputies arrived, they located a victim who had sustained life threatening injuries. The victim was transported to Arroyo Grande Hospital where he later died. The victim's ID is pending notification of next of kin. The search continues for the suspect or suspects responsible for this crime. The investigation into this death is ongoing.
