Contact: Rob BrynPhone: (805) 781-4547Date and time of incident: 12-7-11 10:15 AMPlace of Occurrence: County Court House, San Luis ObispoVictim Information: 59 year old Nipomo manSuspect Information: N/ATwo Sheriff's deputies and an Atascadero Police sergeant helped revive a 59 year old man who apparently collapsed with symptoms of a cardiac event near the metal detectors at the court house on Wednesday morning. Deputies immediately began CPR, administered oxygen and deployed a Automated External Defibrillator (AED). The AED indicated the subject did not have a pulse and directed the deputies to shock the patient. During the life saving attempt the AED was used three times, until a pulse and respiration began. The patient was transported by ambulance to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center, stabilized and transported to French Cardiac Care Unit. The patient was then returned to Sierra Vista on Thursday for further care.
Deputies involved were Bryan Love and Mark Souza, the Atascadero Sergeant was Joe Allen.
