Vehicle Pursuit/Officer Involved Shooting

Contact: Watch CommanderPhone: (805) 781-4553Date and time of incident: 10-27-2012 at approximately 05:30amPlace of Occurrence: 14th Street/Park Street in Paso Robles, Ca.Victim Information: Pending due to an investigation.Suspect Information: Pending due to an investigation.On 10-27-2012 at approximately 05:30am the California Highway Patrol initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle travelling on HWY 101 northbound just south of the North Spring Street exit. A pursuit ensued and the suspect vehicle took the North Spring Street exit in Paso Robles. The suspect vehicle had a traffic collision at 13th Street/Spring Street and the driver fled on foot. Officers pursued the suspect on foot and gunfire was exchanged between the suspect and a CHP Officer at 14th Street/Park Street. Both the Officer and suspect sustained gunshot wounds and were treated at the hospital for their injuries.
