Contact: Tony CipollaPhone: (805) 781 4547Date and time of incident: 3-12-14, 1:49am Place of Occurrence: Sierra Vista Medical Center, San Luis ObispoVictim Information: Josey Richard Meche, 28, TransientSuspect Information: N/AThe Coroner's Unit of the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office is releasing the cause and manner of death for a County Jail inmate who died at Sierra Vista Hospital on 3-12-14. An autopsy and toxicology tests have been completed Investigators list the cause of death for Josey Richard Meche as "Cardiac Dysrhythmia due to Acute Methamphetamine Toxicity with other significant conditions contributing to death, of Hyperthermia and Fatty Infiltration of Right Ventricular Wall." Generally speaking, Meche died of a methamphetamine-induced heart attack with contributing factors of hyperthermia and a fatty infiltration of the heart muscle. The manner of death is being ruled as accidental. Next of kin have been notified.
