When Deputies arrived at that location, they discovered a male victim with a gunshot wound. Medical aid was administered, but a short time later the victim died from his injuries. Detectives began an immediate homicide investigation.
The suspect in this incident has been identified as 42-year-old Cruz Gomez, Jr. of Creston. Detectives and Deputies have been searching for Gomez. The Sheriff's Office has a warrant for his arrest charging murder. He is considered armed and dangerous. The Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's assistance. If you see Gomez or have any information as to his whereabouts please contact the Sheriff's Office.
