The deputy was suspicious because the rear license plate had been covered and the vehicle stripped of brand and model plates, similar to stolen vehicles.
Frances Vaca Cardenas and Mares Leticia Rodriguez were arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance and child endangerment. A vial found in the vehicle tested positive for methamphetamine. The 18 month old infant was found standing in a car seat at the time of the stop. Deputies noted various items that appeared to have been taken from a barn or similar storage facility and matches the kind of property taken in rural crime burglaries. Photos of the property follow. If anyone is missing similar property, they are asked to contact Sheriff's North Station at 434-4290.
