A rash of auto burglaries have plagued the north county town of San Miguel over the last several months.
"We want people to not leave valuables in plain view in their cars and are reminding people to lock their cars when they park." said Sheriff's Crime Prevention Specialist, Marsha Mann. Many thefts from automobiles could be prevented if people simply locked their cars.
Favorite items include, GPS devices, cell phones, laptops computers, purses and wallets.
"We always encourage people to lock valuables in their trunk." Mann said.
Persons who have to leave cars out overnight should be especially cautious about what is left in their cars.
