Bomb Task Force Call Out

The school was placed on partial lockdown and five homes in the area were evacuated as a precaution. Investigators determined that an 11-year-old boy had brought the World War II relic to class for show and tell. The school treated the antique hand grenade as real and called the Sheriff's Office. The Bomb Task Force responded and disposed of the hand grenade. No one was hurt and residents were allowed to return to their homes by 11 AM. The student was not arrested. He was turned over to his parents and counseled.
