Possession of Stolen Property Arrest

The victim, who works for an out of the area utility company, told Deputies that someone had smashed the window on his 2013 pickup truck and stolen a backpack containing his laptop and other work related equipment valued at more than $14,000. The victim says he was contacted on 12-6-16 by a woman who says she was in possession of his backpack and offered to sell it back to him for $250.
A Detective posing as the victim agreed to meet the woman at the corner of Spring Street and 4th Street in Paso Robles on 12-8-16. At that location the money was exchanged for the backpack. At that time, Detectives arrested the woman for felony possession of stolen property. The suspect has been identified as 52-year-old Kerry Lynn Allison of Paso Robles. She was booked into County Jail. Most of the stolen property has been recovered and returned to its rightful owner.
