UPDATE-Victim Identified - Traffic Accident - Vehicle versus Pedestrian
Contact: Ron Hastie, CmdrPhone: (805) 781-4553Date and time of incident: April 5, 2012 at 6:12 amPlace of Occurrence: Northbound Highway 1 near North Studio Drive, Cayucos, CAVictim Information: George Ralph Vianello, 84 years, of Cayucos, CASuspect Information: N/AOn April 5, 2012 at approximately 6:12 AM, Fire personnel and CHP responded to the scene of a vehicle versus pedestrian traffic collision on Highway 1 near the north end of Studio Drive, Cayucos, resulting in one fatality. George Ralph Vianello, 84 years, of Cayucos, CA, was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries sustained in the accident. Next of kin has been notified by coroner investigators. The California Highway Patrol is responsible for the accident investigation and further inquiries may be directed to California Highway Patrol, San Luis Obispo office.
