At-Risk Missing Person Update

Korsgaard went missing on 1-29-17 and was last seen walking near his home in the 6000 block of Balm Ridge Way in rural San Luis Obispo. Korsgaard is considered at-risk because he is suffering from Alzheimers.
Today, Deputies, Detectives, more than 20 Sheriff's Search and Rescue personnel, four K9's and a helicopter from the Sheriff's Aero Squadron conducted a search of the area. Tomorrow the search area will be expanded and the Sheriff's Office has requested an additional 30 Search and Rescue personnel from seven counties to help with the search. The search is being hampered by the rugged terrain of the area as well as recent storms which have made slippery conditions for search teams.
Korsgaard is described as 5' 11" tall, 170 pounds with gray hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a gray V-neck sweatshirt with black cuffs, blue jeans and black clog shoes.
