Possession of a Controlled Substance for Sale, Carrying a Concealed Firearm in a Vehicle

Contact: Tony CipollaPhone: (805) 781 4547Date and time of incident: 8-18-15, Approximately 11:30 PMPlace of Occurrence: Oak Park Boulevard at Highway 101, Arroyo GrandeVictim Information: N/ASuspect Information: Allen Michael Thompson, 26, NipomoOn 8-18-15, Deputies were driving northbound on Highway 101 when they saw the driver of a pickup truck and recognized him as a person who was on probation and driving on a suspended license. The Deputies proceeded to initiate a traffic stop at the intersection of Oak Park Boulevard and Highway 101 in Arroyo Grande.
As part of the terms of his probation, the driver's vehicle was subject to a search. Sheriff's K9 Jacco assisted with the search and alerted to a small compartment in a side panel behind the driver's seat. Deputies discovered a stolen .22 caliber semi-automatic pistol along with approximately 6.5 grams of methamphetamine and 4.5 grams of heroin all packaged for sale. Drug paraphernalia and 120 dollars in counterfeit money was also discovered in the compartment.
Allen Michael Thompson of Nipomo was arrested on a number of charges including possession of a controlled substance for sale, a felony committed while on bail, carrying a concealed firearm in a vehicle, and a person armed with a firearm in the commission of a crime.
