Three men entered the open market and began to loiter near the liquor department. They then all grabbed beer and liquor valued at $124.55, ran out the front door and into a green 1989 Chevrolet truck. A description of the vehicle was broadcast and both detectives and patrol deputies spotted the vehicle, stopping it on Hwy 1 near Villa Creek. The four occupants were all taken into custody and charged with burglary and conspiracy. The property was recovered and returned to the market.
When someone enters a building with the intent to steal, and is also accompanied by others, it is considered a felony burglary and conspiracy, as opposed to a simple shoplift.
