Unattended Death - Autopsy Results

Corngold DOB: 2-19-62Suspect Information: N/AAn autopsy was conducted today on Rabbi Scott M. Corngold, formerly of Temple Beth David in San Luis Obispo. Rabbi Corngold was found dead on Saturday morning in his car near his residence in Avila Beach. The forensic pathologist has ruled the death as natural causes do to a pulmonary embolism. Corngold apparently experienced the beginnings of the event while at home, and was possibly attempting to seek assistance, however because the event can cause confusion, it is not known if he was trying to get to Avila Beach or some other location. He was found unresponsive in his vehicle with the flashers on. Corngold was originally transported to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. Toxicology results are pending. Detectives conducted an exhaustive investigation over the weekend and confirmed there was no foul play or suicide indicators.
