Homicide Suspect Arrested

The suspect is identified as 41-year-old David James Krause of Grover Beach.
The investigation into Bross's homicide began on 1-24-19 when Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to a check the welfare call at a home in the 1400 block of Strand Way in Oceano. When Deputies arrived, they discovered the body of Bross inside the home.
After an extensive investigation, Detectives were able identify Krause as the suspect in this case. Krause was already in custody in County Jail on unrelated charges when Detectives arrested him on 4-8-21.
"We have very dedicated Detectives," said Sheriff Parkinson. "Through their perseverance, we are able to identify and arrest the person responsible for this heinous crime."
This case involved significant laboratory follow-up which resulted in DNA which clearly identified the suspect. This type of analysis is exceedingly detailed and extremely time-consuming, but the end result is the apprehension of a suspect.
With the arrest of Krause, all six of the homicides investigated by the Sheriff's Office in 2019 have been solved.
