Coroner's Office

The Coroner's Office investigates the cause and manner of death in most cases where a death occurred outside of a hospital or the presence of a physician, and all other cases involving homicides, suicides, accidental deaths and deaths due to suspicious circumstances. The Coroner Unit is comprised of Sheriff-Coroner Ian Parkinson and detectives who specialize in death investigations. It is the responsibility of the coroner to determine the necessary level of inquiry into any death that falls within the jurisdiction of the Coroner's Office.
