Fifty-one K9's took part in the training exercises including all six that make up the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office K9 unit. They came from Fresno County, Monterey County, and Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Offices as well as Police Departments from Napa, Bakersfield, and Santa Maria to name a few.
This is part of the annual certification process for these K9's. The CNCA provides that certification training. The organization is represented in 17 states and five countries and consists of almost a thousand members of law enforcement.

In conjunction with the California Narcotic Canine Association (CNCA), this all-day training allowed K9's to be trained and certified in the areas of patrol, narcotics and explosives.
