Witnesses reported the 16-year-old boy had been swimming with some friends when he swam away from the group. Not long afterwards, the boy seemed to be in distress and went under the water. Bystanders attempted to rescue the boy but were unsuccessful in locating him.
The Sheriff's Dive Team was called out and the boy's body was located at approximately 8:30 PM.
At this time next of kin are still being notified, so the victim's identification is not being released.
