Deputies will be distributing the brochures to our Sheriff stations located in Los Osos and Oceano as well as to the coastal police departments in Morro Bay, Pismo Beach and Grover Beach, State Parks facilities, fire departments and libraries. The public is invited to pick up a brochure at one of these locations.
San Luis Obispo County experienced a small tsunami in 2011 which led to a large scale evacuation of the coastal areas of the county. It's hoped these brochures will both inform and educate the public to be prepared for any type of tsunami event.
