6-24-13 in San Luis Obispo. The man has been identified as 44-year-old Scott Morgan Metzger of San Luis Obispo. Because of the extent of the injuries suffered, it was thought that DNA analysis would have to be utilized to make a positive identification. An autopsy was performed on 6-26-13. During the course of the autopsy, a tattoo was discovered and confirmed by the family. Based on information gathered during the course of the investigation along with identifying information found during the autopsy, coroner's investigators were able to identify the victim.
