This is an opportunity for Sheriff Parkinson to honor those who have gone above and beyond the call of duty. During the ceremony, new Sheriff's Office Deputies and personnel will be sworn in, promotions will be announced, and commendations will be presented. Among those receiving commendations are two Arroyo Grande K9 Police Officers and two Sergeants from Camp San Luis. The awards ceremony also includes the Sheriff's Life Saving Award which will be given to three deputies for a situation involving a stand-off last November. The Sheriff will also announce the Sheriff's Office Volunteer of the Year.
