The man has now been identified as 35-year-old Nicholas Deloss Marold of Arroyo Grande.
The Sheriff's Marine Enforcement Unit, Sheriff's Underwater Search and Recovery Dive Team, Port San Luis Harbor Patrol, US Coast Guard vessels and helicopter and a CHP helicopter had been searching for Marold. His body has not been recovered. Next of kin have been notified.
As of 8:30 PM, the US Coast Guard and the Sheriff's Office have suspended all search efforts.
