Every year since 1989, Sheriff's Honor Farm inmates have refurbished bikes donated by the community to give to underprivileged local children. With assistance from the Sheriff's Advisory Foundation and the SLO Bike Coalition, the Honor Farm staff and inmates are able to provide bicycles and helmets to children in need. Sheriff's staff will be giving several bikes to children at the Honor Farm on Thursday morning, then loading the rest onto "Santa's Sleigh" for delivery at various locations throughout the county. There will be video, photo and interview opportunities at this event for the media.
