A short time later, Atkins was located hiding in the garage of a residence on Peach Street. He was taken into custody without incident.

Deputies spotted Atkins as a passenger of a vehicle that was driving in San Luis Obispo near the area of Walnut and Peach Streets. When Deputies attempted to initiate a traffic stop, Atkins fled the vehicle and the vehicle took off. A search for Atkins was begun which included Deputies, a Sheriff's K9, San Luis Obispo Police Officers, CHP and Cal Fire.A short time later, Atkins was located hiding in the garage of a residence on Peach Street. He was taken into custody without incident.
