The victim is identified as 26 year old Patricia Jacobo of Oceano. The suspect is identified as her husband, 27-year old Humberto Jacobo Chavez, of Oceano.
On 8-16-15, Sheriff's Deputies responded to a report of a domestic violence incident at a residence on Warner Street in Oceano. When Deputies arrived, they discovered Patricia Jacobo deceased from knife inflicted wounds. Also discovered in the residence was Humberto Jacobo Chavez, suffering from self-inflicted knife wounds.
At this time, investigators believe Jacobo Chavez killed his wife and then tried to take his own life. He was transported by ambulance to a local hospital where he is still listed in serious but stable condition. Jacobo Chavez was arrested on one count of murder. Since he is currently recovering in the hospital, there is no booking photo to be released at this time.
The Sheriff's Office has received numerous inquiries regarding the immigration status of Jacobo Chavez. We have information that he is a legal resident of the U.S. Jacobo Chavez has no prior contact with the Sheriff's Office.
