The Sheriff's Office offers a few tips to help residents protect their property:
1. Keep your vehicle locked at all times.
2. Avoid leaving valuables inside the vehicle where someone can easily spot them.
3. Report any suspicious activity to your local law enforcement agency.

More than a dozen such incidents have been reported in the past month. All of the thefts are the result of people leaving their vehicles unlocked and their valuables in plain view.
